Terms of Service

Last updatedMay 16, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the LongArm Defense website and services, including by booking a training session, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and the Liability Waiver below. If you do not agree, do not use our services. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and LongArm Defense.

2. Services

LongArm Defense provides private 1 on 1 firearms and defense training across Central Maryland. All training sessions are by appointment only and are subject to instructor availability. Training is delivered at a location chosen by mutual agreement between the student and the instructor.

3. Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years of age to book a training session on your own behalf. Students under 18 may participate only if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is 18 or older, who is present for the entire session, and who agrees to these Terms and the Liability Waiver on behalf of the minor. LongArm Defense reserves the right to require proof of age and guardian consent.

4. Training Approach and Limitations

LongArm Defense training uses professional training props. No live ammunition is used in any session. Sessions focus on safe handling, marksmanship fundamentals, tactical decision making, and personal defense awareness. This training is not a substitute for:

  • The Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) course.
  • Maryland Wear and Carry Permit certification.
  • Any other state mandated firearms course.
  • Medical, legal, or psychological advice.

Students seeking the certifications listed above must obtain them through Maryland State Police approved providers.

5. Booking, Deposit, and Payment

  • The total cost of a standard training session is $150.
  • A non refundable $50 deposit is collected at the time of booking through Square.
  • The remaining $100 balance is due at the start of the session and is payable by cash or card.
  • By submitting payment information you authorize LongArm Defense and Square to charge your card for the deposit and to retain the deposit subject to the cancellation policy below.

6. Cancellation, Rescheduling, and Refunds

  • Reschedule by you with 48 or more hours' notice: your $50 deposit transfers to the new session at no additional cost.
  • Cancellation or reschedule by you with less than 48 hours' notice: the $50 deposit is forfeited. Booking a new session requires a new deposit.
  • No show: failure to appear at the scheduled location at the scheduled time, or failure to be reachable within 15 minutes of the scheduled start, forfeits the full $50 deposit.
  • Cancellation by LongArm Defense for any reason, including weather, instructor illness, scheduling conflict, or safety concerns: your $50 deposit transfers to a rescheduled session at no additional cost, or you may request a full refund of the $50 deposit.
  • Inclement weather: if conditions make travel or training unsafe, LongArm Defense may reschedule the session. Your deposit transfers to the new session at no cost.

7. Right to Refuse or End a Session

LongArm Defense reserves the right to refuse service to, or to terminate a session in progress with, any individual who:

  • Appears intoxicated, impaired, or otherwise unfit to participate safely.
  • Behaves in a threatening, abusive, or unsafe manner.
  • Refuses to follow safety instructions.
  • Misrepresents their identity, age, or training intent.
  • Presents a firearm or live ammunition during a session. All sessions are prop based.

If a session is terminated for any of the reasons above, no refund will be issued and any remaining balance owed for that session is still owed.

8. Liability Waiver, Release, and Assumption of Risk

By booking, attending, or otherwise participating in any LongArm Defense training session, you acknowledge and agree as follows:

  • You voluntarily choose to participate in firearms related training that, even when conducted with non live props, carries inherent risks including but not limited to physical strain, accidental contact, slips, falls, and injuries arising from the training environment.
  • You assume all such risks, whether known or unknown, on your own behalf and on behalf of your heirs, executors, and assigns.
  • You represent that you are in good physical and mental health, are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and are not aware of any condition that would make participation unsafe.
  • You release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless LongArm Defense, Adam Long, and their respective heirs, successors, agents, and assigns from any and all claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, and causes of action of any kind, including those arising from the ordinary negligence of LongArm Defense or Adam Long, that may result from your participation in any training session.
  • You agree to indemnify and defend LongArm Defense and Adam Long against any third party claim arising from your conduct during or in connection with any training session.

This waiver does not release LongArm Defense from liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be waived under Maryland law.

9. Property and Locations

You are responsible for ensuring that the training location is safe and that you have the legal right to use that location for the purposes of the session. You are responsible for any damage to your own property and waive any claim against LongArm Defense for property damage arising from the ordinary conduct of training.

10. Intellectual Property

12. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or any training session will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Carroll County, Maryland. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14. Force Majeure

LongArm Defense is not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action, pandemic, fire, flood, or labor disputes.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any specific written agreements between you and LongArm Defense, constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
